The band’s upbeat, dynamic sound combines influences of artists ranging from Guster to Simon and Garfunkel to The Avett Brothers—with a ukulele. The Future Laureates have opened for Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Drive-By Truckers and Dawes.  2012 is off to a momentous start as the band is poised to make their debut performance in March at the world-renowned SXSW music festival in Austin, TX.

After a successful promotional campaign executed by Tinderbox Music, the band’s 2011 release, “Rethink the Recession” was signed to licensing deals with a variety of shows on MTV, Showtime, and Discovery Networks (which includes TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, History Channel, and Oprah Winfrey Network, among many others).  The eclectic, 3-song EP also made it into rotation on 140 college and community radio stations across North America.
